Yamaichi Acu-Touch (TM) is a newly developed method of bodywork that relieves pain and greatly improves flexibility and range of motion. It is best explained as a method of soft-tissue manipulation that lies somewhere between osteopathy and acupressure. Acu-Touch consists of a unique combination of energetic techniques that dissolve blockages in soft tissues and strengthen the muscle-bone interface. Specific finger pressure techniques and passive movements are combined to soften tension and distortion in muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Stress or injury cause loss of contractility in vessels and energy pathways, leading to congestion, blockage, and loss of normal function. Acu-Touch improves contractility in lymph vessels and other structures, restoring normal function and accelerating healing. With Acu-Touch the body becomes more resilient, more able to handle repetitive stress acitivities.
Acu-Touch succeeds where other techniques fail because it deals with an approach to significant tissue structures that other methods overlook. It combines Eastern and Western methods of skilled bodywork with a new sense of direction and awareness, focusing on each person's needs individually and attentively. By encouraging normal movement and more rapid healing, Acu-Touch facilitates recovery to maximum operating capacity. Acu-Touch adds a new level of precision to bodywork that helps the body heal more completely and thoroughly.
Acu-Touch was successfully used on members of the San Francisco 49'ers football team and was of great assistance to Jerry Rice, Steve Young and other players, especially in the year they won the Superbowl. It has helped individuals in all walks of life to recover more fully from trauma, repetitive stress and lingering, chronic pain.
Acu-Touch is a highly effective method of rehabilitation for soft-tissue injury, as well as an excellent method of preventive maintenance and performance enhancement. It is a teachable method that is ideal for young and old, layperson and professional alike. It is Yamaichi's desire to pass on the knowledge of his method through instructional DVD's, workshops, and programs available to anyone with an interest in his method of healing.
